Jazzberry Blue’s Kaleidoscopic City Map Art Prints

Jazzberry Blue‘s city map art prints are an example of great design. I love how these abstract prints capture the essence of each city in a simple but unique way.

The artist has turned maps of major cities into eye-catching, kaleidoscope-like creations, using a different, limited palette of colours for each print. They are literally “colour blocked,” with each city block in a solid colour. These city maps make it striking how uniquely each city is laid out — some like New York and San Francisco are based on a stricter grid, while London takes on a more organic pattern, and Jerusalem is marked by unusually curvy roads. Each work is an abstract design, without the names and symbols typically found on a map.

Jazzberry Blue is a self-taught artist who lives in Toronto, Canada. “Art is my main form of communication and it is a true honour to know that I am not just talking to myself,” he says.

These, and other city map wall art including prints for New Orleans, Munich, Melbourne, and Budapest, are available to buy from arthaus as giclee fine art prints, and framed prints.
