Maik Lipp, a German photographer who also goes by the handle usrdck, took these cool photos of Lifeguard Houses during a trip to Miami. The straightforward approach — showing them with an uncluttered background of sky, ocean, and beach — allows the personality of the buildings to shine through. Some of the lifeguard stations follow a theme, such as one that is the patriotic American colours of red, white and blue, or another that resembles a lighthouse, while some are just interesting, decorative designs.
