Positivity Reigns in Colourful Art Prints by Christopher David Ryan

Friends - Art Print by Christopher David Ryan, CDR

Christopher David Ryan, who also goes by his initials “CDR” and his studio’s name Atmostheory, created these colourful art prints. I like the positive, happy aesthetic of Ryan’s design work, which uses lots of hearts, peace symbols, and inspirational mantras such as “Today is the greatest.” The art prints are done in a wide variety of bright colours, with minimalist cartoon drawings and creative typography.

The artist is also an electronic musician, and several of the art prints reflect this theme: The Find shows a person lighting up as they pull a record out of a box, and Lost on the Dancefloor has a person holding their hands up in the midst of a large crowd, with a disco ball overhead. Plaidsman is a hipster-like character whose red beard is a plaid just like his clothes. The Line shows people walking through a coffee shop, which changes their mood from sad to happy, shown by their change in posture and  in colour from blue to a sunny yellow. My personal favourites are I Heart Space, with a ringed planet taking the place of the heart, and Friends, which has a person hugging a dinosaur.

You can buy art prints of these colourful designs from the artist’s website. You can also buy art online from arthaus, where you may want to check out the similarly cheerful work of Dale Keys or Jay Fleck.
