Rceeh is an artist whose work moves between the chaotic energy of the city and the structured beauty of traditional folk patterns. In the illustration titled Favela, we see a dense cluster of multi-story buildings with flat roofs and many windows. The structures are arranged in vertical stacks that overlap one another against a stark white background. I like how the artist uses shades of blue, green, yellow, orange, and pink to give life to this cityscape, which is topped with various rooftop antennas. It feels like a vibrant take on urban art that captures the crowded nature of modern housing.
In a different direction, the artist uses digital art to recreate the look of traditional textiles. Romanian Traditional Pattern 1 is a pixelated image featuring a symmetrical red and black pattern centered around a red eight-petaled flower shape. Black shapes resembling leaves, ferns, and geometric stalks radiate from the centre, all enclosed within a red square border. The precision of the pixel work reminds me of needlepoint, where every small square contributes to a larger geometric whole. This piece uses a decorative outer border of small red and black diamonds to finish the composition.

Romanian Traditional Pattern 2 continues this exploration of ornament with a red square image containing symmetrical pixelated patterns in white, green, and black. These are arranged in concentric borders around a central star-like motif that anchors the design. The geometric shapes resemble flowers, leaves, and vines, creating a sense of natural growth within a very rigid digital framework. It is interesting to see how Rceeh translates these old-world symbols into a modern format while keeping the magenta and red palette so bold.

Another work in this series, Romanian Traditional Pattern 3, introduces human figures into the geometric world. This square red image features four pairs of pixelated figures holding hands, arranged in a circle around a central pattern of green, black, and white shapes. The composition is bordered by green and black patterned bands and includes floral-like motifs in the corners and between the figures. It captures the feeling of a folk event or a traditional dance through simple, blocky shapes. Rceeh successfully blends the history of Romanian Traditional Pattern 3 with a clean, digital aesthetic.
