A Bird’s Eye View of Shop Keepers by Gabriel Linares

A vuelo de pájaro - Photo by Gabriel Linares

A vuelo de pájaro is translated as “a bird’s eye,” and these photographs give the viewer a bird’s eye view of shop owners in a Colombian shopping center. A tailor, shoemaker, herbalist, watch maker, cook, and hair stylist are among those shown in their stores. These photos are taken with a very wide-angle lens, and some have a “fisheye” effect. They offer a unique perspective on these shop spaces and their owners which the public normally cannot see.  Gabriel Linares is a photojournalist from Colombia.
