Belenko’s “Tiny Crimes”: Household Accidents Given Added Drama

I absolutely love these creative photos by Dina Belenko. Each of these Tiny Crimes depicts a minor household accident — a broken coffee cup, or blue ink spilled on a pile of paper — that might happen every day. However, the way the photos are shot, and the addition of toy police cars and ambulances in each scene, give them heightened scale and drama. Belenko is a “photoillustrator” from Russia, who says photographing objects in still life “means making portraits of their soul.”
