Kostis Fokas: Sexually-charged, Mentally-stimulating Photography

The human body, in juxtaposition with a variety of odd props and settings, becomes a thought-provoking statement in the work of Kostis Fokas. Fokas, a photographer originally from Greece but now living in London, generally obscures his models’ faces (wearing masks or simply out of frame) but does not shy away from showing everything else. “Unlike photography that seeks to reveal the feelings of the objects portrayed through the use of faces and expressions, I shift my focus on the complete freedom pertained to the image of a human body”.
