These atmospheric photographs of New York City, taken in an unusually foggy early morning, offer a unique view of the city. The photos have an ethereal, painterly quality. They were taken at the High Line, a former freight railway line that has been re-purposed into an elevated public park. It first opened in 2009 and currently runs 1.6 km (1 mile) through Manhattan’s West Side, with the final proposed phases still under construction. The artist, Darran Rees, is an award-winning photographer based in London and New York.
