In Extremis (Bodies with No Regret) is a series of photographs by Sandro Giordano, who also goes by the handle remmidemmi. Each of these photos shows a person who has fallen down, surrounded by a variety of objects which represent their everyday existence. I think the artist has succeeded in creating an awkward combination of humour and tragedy in these images.
Tanti Auguri a Me (Happy Birthday to Me) shows a girl face-down with balloons, a camera, and a smashed cake. Meat Them features a butcher in a grocery store display case filled with his wares, and La Primavera (Spring) has a woman surrounded by broken flower pots and her other gardening tools.
Giordano says that these pictures represent the characters hitting rock bottom, which they must do to escape from the appearance- and perfection-obsessed world and to express an invisible “truth.”
