Each animated GIF in this project takes a famous building and gives it a unique twist — sometimes literally. Architecture Animée (Animated Architecture), by French architect Axel de Stampa, shows these buildings in movement. They are added to, disassembled and reassembled, slided, or rotated. Some of the animations are inspired by video games, particularly one in which Tetris-like blocks fall from the sky, though I also see the influence of building games like Minecraft and Lego in the entire series. We discovered these fascinating images via Whudat.
