Pixels in Photo by Russian artist Karina Dehtyar is a series of images that combine digital pixel art with photography. They show caterpillars on mushrooms, a gnome blowing bubbles, and snails crawling on greenery. I love the surprising combination of these two drastically different styles (photography is typically thought of as detailed and realistic, while pixel art is more simple and abstract). The extremely shallow depth of field in the photos helps make the images work. The picture of a bird also has animated snow falling, which is a nice touch.
