Cartoon Creatures Invade the City, in “Paris and the Unknown”

This collaborative series of animated GIF images is called Paris and the Unknown — with the “Paris” representing the black and white photos by Justin Rang, and the “Unknown” representing the animation added by Yoyo the Rice-corpse. The pictures have a bunny and bear dancing in the Underground, an alien landing in front of a street cafe, and other silly and surreal creatures moving though the city. I am intrigued by the way the artist has made some aspects of the animated characters in a cartoon style, but still maintains realism in adding other elements like rain and shadows.

“It is as if I am creating a spell to take you all along with me over to another world. A world of peculiar and unknown,” says Yoyo.
