Jade Mai’s Cinematic Fashion Photography Shows “Isolation”

Jade Mai (also known as Rebecca M) is a fashion photographer who is originally from Vietnam, but currently living in Singapore. In Isolation, she attempts to create photos that can stand alone and have a deeper meaning than most fashion photography — and I think she has succeeded wonderfully. They show men and women looking somber and thoughtful, in meticulously staged scenes. I especially appreciate the influence of Edward Hopper and cinematic lighting on these photos.
